We began a season of reFocus in the Summer of 2026 to celebrate our history, focus on our calling, discover our church’s sweet spot in reaching and serving our community, cultivate a renewed vision, and mobilize to seek and save the lost.

ReFocus Sermon Series Topics:

  1. A Focused Church Has a Burden (for the lost)
    -Nehemiah 1-2 - Finding our sweet spot: God’s Purpose and Our Passion

  2. We is Greater Than Me
    -Exodus 18 - A refocused church works together as a team, has a biblical dependence on God and Each Other. We must heed Jethro’s advice to discern God’s direction, experience His endurance, and find peace.

  3. Formed in Christ
    -Galatians 4:19 - Our mission is to shepherd others to be formed in Christ. Our greatest tool in reaching the community is “being like Christ.”

  4. The Power and Sufficiency of Scripture
    -Acts 19:11-20 - The Word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailing. The Word of God and the work of His Spirit is sufficient to guide our vision and all aspects of ministry to serve, care, and share.

  5. A Focused Church Worships
    -Acts 16:16-34 - Worship isn’t primarily an activity, rather it’s our identity as a church. Everything we do is to worship Christ and to make new worshippers.

  6. Unity
    -Ephesians 4 - We cannot reach and disciple others without unity in the local body of Christ. A focused church has the ability to cultivate humility and patience as they bear with one another in grace.

  7. A Focused Church Shares Christ
    -John 20:21 - God calls us to Live Sent, Live in His Power, and to Look for the Lost. We are not secret agents - we are visible ambassadors of His love, truth, and grace to a world that desperately needs Christ.

  8. A Praying Church
    -1 Timothy 2:1-8 - All of our efforts in evangelism and discipleship are carried-out in the presence of God through prayer. Prayer moves us to dependence. Prayer expands our faith. Prayer fuels missions and evangelism. Prayer is our way of life.

  9. A Serving Church
    -Mark 10:42-45 - Our supreme example for ministry is Jesus who came not to be served, but to serve. We aren’t seeking to be significant, rather we are seeking to serve others. Through serving, we gain the privilege to share the Good News of Great Joy to others.

  10. ReFocus on Hospitality
    -Romans 12:13 - God calls us to practice His love to others through embracing our calling as “sent” believers, making an intentional effort to minister God’s provision to others, and to make room for other’s at Christ’s table.

  11. ReFocus on Stewardship
    2 Corinthians 9:6-12 - Everything belongs to God and He calls us to give bountifully from a generous heart as witness to our devotion to Him.

  12. From Maintenance to Mission
    -Colossians 1:3-12 - God has called us, as a church, to Gospel fruitfulness - bearing fruit and increasing, continually praying, being filled with the knowledge of His will, to walk worthy, and to worship Him in all things. We move from Maintenance to Mission when we abandon our will and seek His will (mission).
